AK Update

Wow, we have been super, super busy every day, all day. With work and family and friends we just haven't really rested very much this past week. It's been great. Back to the life I remember. It's hard to get bored here.

I have been doing the church landscaping and cleaning guest rooms, getting ready for a busy summer of two wedding and our ERI (Eagle River Institute). Matthew has a whole list of things to do for Fr Marc and Tom and Maris. And Luke has been rediscovering long lost friends. He has his moments though where he is throwing a huge fit, not wanting to share his toys, and I wish he didn't have friends that I had to deal with. Like today, it was a rather rough day with friends. He is a wonderful, terrible two!

So our fishing trip was a whole lot of fun for me and not so fun for Matthew and the kids. It was a whole lot easier to go fishing without kids that you have to worry about. I could spend all day on the river and have a blast, but is a bit boring for a daddy with two very small kiddos. I on;y cot one fish but Isaac gave me his three because he didn't want to clean and fillae (sp?) them. :)

Wow, Luke is our little night owl. Our sleep schedule was so bad last week that Luke was up till 1am twice. I think that might qualify for child abuse. :) He did sleep in though till 9am which was nice. It's hard to get use to all this light again. I would look at the time thinking it was about 8pm when it turned out to be 11pm or later. I think was re finally getting use to it though. Luke was asleep before 10pm tonight. Granted it was 9:50pm, but that's still before.

Matthew and I can never have cable in our house. We have stayed up too late too many night in a row watching movies. We are too cheep to rent very often, but when it's free it's so easy to just veg and watch instead of doing anything else. We ahrdly watched TV back in PA becaue there was nothing to watch...except sports of course!!!

We went to Sloan, our God-daughter's, last T-Ball game tonight. It was pretty funny watching all the kids try to hit the ball and run to the right base, or the mob of kids all running for the same ball and wrestling it. It was also pretty boring and slow, as much as I LOVE Sloan, I don't know how many of those I could take in the AK cool summers with the cold breeze. But I am glad I could go and cheer her on at least once. She does love it, even though she talks to the other players more than she watches the ball and tries to catch it, she really does a good job. GO SLOAN!!!

Matthew is at his softball game tonight being a base coach. I am surprised how loyal his is to the team even though he is not playing. The kids and I could not go as the game started at 9:45pm. To late for us, but since Matthew is gone I get to watch whatever I want on cable. Yipee! :)
