No, it's not the name of a new Adam Sandler movie, it's the name of a miracle drug! Anastasia and I were finally approved yesterday for Medicaid (thank you to all the faithful readers who pay their taxes!), which meant that she was able to get the wonderdrug to ease her nausea. Zophran is a nausea medicine for cancer patients, so it is safe for the baby and good for the mama. Stasia took some around 6 or 6:30pm. Within an hour, she was eating a normal dinner with a healthy appetite, and, after putting the kids to bed, did the dishes, swept & mopped the floor, did some laundry, and read a book. All things that she hasn't been able to do for the last three weeks. At least, she hasn't been able to enjoy them.
Unfortunately, she only gets 21 pills per month, so she must ration them to make them last. We're hoping that 1 per day will work for a bit until she can go to 1 every other day. Medicaid will only pay for 1 prescription per month because it's an $800 medicine (generic brand!).
Now my wife can be her normal self, thus allowing me to be my normal self: the guy who blogs when he's supposed to be writing a paper for school. :)
So once again, thanks for paying your taxes on time. And if you haven't sent in that check to uncle sam, just send it to us instead. :)

Yay for drugs! I've gotta get to the doc and get my own...now for nausea, but for whatever lung ailment has knocked me flat on my butt.
