Frightening Fireworks

We have had a great labor day weekend. We have stayed pretty busy with friends. Today we went to our favorite park and had a picnic with friends. It was a great time playing in the water and on the play ground. Luke is doing better about going in the water with out being scared.

Yesterday we went to a AAA Yankees Game at PNC Fields. It was a lot of fun, but would have been funner if Luke would have quit asking to go home. He's not a big baseball fan yet. We went with our friends the Snowden's (Hannah's Godparents) who have Peter. Luke and Peter don't exactly get along very well which makes it hard to get together with them sometimes because Luke is way over sensitive and Peter has no personal space awareness. Not always the best combination, but they are getting better...I think! At the beginning of the game we think Peter may have been stung by a bee, but no mark ever showed up and he didn't cry for too long, but there were bees everywhere. It was really annoying. At the end of the game they did fireworks because it was the last game of the season. They were some of the best fireworks I have ever seen, the finale was awesome...but, Luke hated it. And I do mean HATED IT!!! He would not look at them and had a death grip on me with his eyes clamped shut. I was holding him on my lap with his head on my chest and a hand over his exposed ear. I tried a couple time to move but he would have nothing to do with it. Any movement from me made him go stiff, and he would mumble no, no , no. So we won't be going to any more fireworks shows. On the way home Luke kept asking us if we were scarred of the fireworks. He would say "Mama, papa, you scared of fireworks?" and we would say "yes Luke but not anymore, there all gone now." So it went all the way home (20 min) "Mama, you scared of fireworks? Lukey scared fireworks. Papa you scared of fireworks" Mama scared a lill (little) bit." and so on and so forth. It was cute. He woke up this morning (at 6:20, Hannah was up at 5:45) asking me if I was scared of fireworks, just a lill bit. I think we will be hearing about the fireworks for a while now!! :)

Matthew started a fantasy football league this year with a couple seminary friends and his brother Jonathan. Jonathan was at work the night of the draft so I drafted for him. It was an interesting experience since I didn't know most of the players and was going off a ranked list. Anyway, I am now rooting for Jonathan to win since I picked his team. GO JONATHAN!!!

Both kids are asleep now so I think I will go beat Matthew at backgammon!! GO ME!!!

#1, I love your new picture! #2, I don't think Fr. Philip would EVER let me draft for him. So now, I will root for Jonathan too, since he was cool enough to have faith in Stasia.

a) Jonathan was working and had no chance of conference calling for the draft; b) I called him two hours before to ask if he wanted to play; c) he also had a good little brother helping out his general manager (Stasia) by telling her not to draft a kicker in the 7th or 9th round; d) she had some help from her new friend, Raspberry Smirnoff and Yahoo!'s pre-ranked draft list.

She did a great job though, and Jonathan's team is projected to score the second most points this week in our league. She also did the first half of the draft while trying to put two kids to bed. Amazin.
