Hannah's Baptism. Sorry the video is sideways, we had a friend take it for us and we didn't tell him not to turn the camera. Just turn you computer sideways if you have a laptop.
So we had a very busy, eventful weekend but it was a lot of fun.
Fr Stephen and Sally arrived Friday evening at 5:30 pm. We went out to eat at a really good hamburger place that never froze their meat and cut their own potatoes for french fries. Since Matthew worked at IN-N-OUT this was wonderful for him. After dinner it was home for the evening for a little down time to catch up.
Matthew and Fr Stephen left Saturday morning at 7am for liturgy and to help get the church ready for the baptism. Sally, the kids and I got to the monastery church around 11:20am. Luke was sleeping so we sat out in the car till 11:55am then woke Luke up and went into church for the baptism at 12 noon. The baptism went great with the exception that Fr Stephen burned Hannah's foot on the baptismal font candles and then dunked her all the way under while she was screaming with her mouth wide open and tried to drown her. But, other than that things went great. Hannah's Godparents, Matthew and Hannah Snowden, had us and the grand parents over to their house afterwords for a wonderful lunch. We had a ton of fun over there till Luke broke down and started yelling "bye, bye", he wanted to leave. It was time for another nap for Luke. Sally the kids and I left around 3pm for home, while Matthew and Fr Stephen went back to the monastery for Vespers. They got home around 6ish and then we ate dinner and just hung out.
We all left Sunday morning at 6:40 am for church in Emmaus. Hannah's Godparents also joined us in Emmaus for Hannah's first communion. It was really nice to have them there! After church we went over to Ft Ted and Joanne's house for lunch. Big Hannah and I spent most of our time in the back yard with the boys. It was a really nice day (80 degrees) so we loved it. There were to many little things for the boys to get into inside, but that was OK with me because it was such a nice day I loved being outside. After lunch we stopped at Sonic for smooties and then Walmart for meat to grill. We got home around 4:30pm. We were all pooped...but Luke who got a nao wasn't. Fr Stephen grilled some really good chicken and steak and then we built a bon-fire.
Fr Stephen and Sally left Monday morning around 4am for the airport. We had all said goodbye the night before so we didn't have to get up and say goodbye this morning. Today Luke was up at the crack of dawn anyway. I dragged myself out of bed at 8am when Matthew left for school. At 8am the temp outside was 72 degrees, at 8:30 it was 82 degrees. By 11am it was up to 90 degrees and around 3pm it was up to 102 in the sun. Needless to say it is HOT!!! I can't keep the house cool enough. It's awful and wonderful at the same time. Luke and I went out to play at 8am this morning when it was cooler and the breeze was actuall cool. We played pitside till noon and them played inside till 1pm (he didn't actually fall asleep till 2pm) when it was naptime. Luke was up from his nap at 3pm and then went back outside. he is still outside and it is 6:30pm. He's been having water fights this the kids next door and tunning around like a wild boy. Hopefully the sunscreen is still working. He did get a nasty little heat rash in his diaper so he's not wearing one right now, but he's outside so it dosn't really matter. 7pm will be bath time and then 8pm bedtime. I am so hopeing all this outside play will put him out early and help him sleep through the night.
Well Hannah is fussing and I thik she is hungy so adios for now!!!
