Sunday

So I have a fair amount of time on my hands now that I have so much help with the kids. I hardly hold Hannah during the day and Luke is just everywhere all the time. So... the point is I can blog a lot more.

Today (Sun), Luke woke up with a really bad cough. He coughed all the way through Liturgy and all through the BBQ afterwords. We came home early from the BBQ around 1pm, Luke fell asleep on the way home and slept till 5pm. What is amazing is he has hardly coughed since he woke up. YEAH, sleep that cough away. It is now 8:30pm and he is tired again. Wow, he is sick!

Tonight we had all the grandparents over for dinner. It was nice to see them all. Luke was awake for most of it, but Hannah slept till the very end. She woke up around 7pm, right before Grandpa Roy and Grandma Marge left. Grandma Joyce is still here so she is enjoying little Hannah's smiles.

Uncle Jonathan brought Luke those through, snap fire crackers, and Luke loves them. He discovered (very quickly) that if you through them and they don't pop, you should step on them and that makes them pop. However, Gramas dog Sidney (or Ed if your Luke) hates them. She is now hiding in the back bedroom somewhere. She was in our room but Matthew went and kicked her out and locked her out.

Uncle Jonathan also bought Luke a T-Ball set which is great. Luke now has 3 bats here. He has been using two at a time, one in each hand, to hit the ball. hahaha It's super cute.

Matthew gave the longest homily he has ever give today, 20 min. It was like two separate homily's combined. It was really good, but really long. When we got here on Wed it was Ascension but we missed the service at St Athanasious, so Matthew went to an OCA in town. Fr Ian, the OCA priest, had Matthew give the homily. Did Matthew know he was giving the homily??? NO!!!! It was his first impromptu homily, but probably one of his best. I didn't go, but from the summery he gave me it sounded great.

Time to go feed Hannah again.

First, probably not the last! Kathryn says those are my better ones as well. God bless your travels this summer!

Excellent, that is a nice thing about "circuit preaching" you can reuse a great one and no one knows the difference!! How's Matthew's injury? Any softball this summer?

Little to no softball this summer. I have a torn miniscus (the cartilage between the bones in the knee joint) that will require surgery in the fall when we are back in PA (our insurance coverage area). The doc said I basically need 2 painfree weeks before doing any serious athletic activity, and yes, he considers softball to be serious. I may ignore him and pitch in August if needed in tournaments. But my wife will put the leash on me and strap me to the bench for most of the summer. I'm thinking about sending my medical bill to St. Vlad's since i injured my knee playing hoops against them.
