Words Luke Can Say!!!

Luke playing with Aunt Mary's shoes. He loves shoes right now!
This picture is to show the new color of our living room. You can see it above the TV. It's a cranberry red with just a hint of orange to it. Beautiful!

HI ALL,
Someone was asking me the other day what words Luke can say now. He doesn't say very many words but he is learning new ones every week. So here are Luke's works:
1. mama
2. dada
3. papa
4. dog
5. fish
6. m&m
7. wow
8. bird (this is a new one this week)
9. side (for outside)
10. juice
11. this
12. Uh-oh
13. ouch
14. that
15. cheese

Yet he still hasn't put it together in a sentence ("Mama, that cheese, wow." Nope, nothing like that).

He can also:
1. roar like bear or lion
2. bark like a dog
3. moo like a cow
4. vroom like a car
5. aflack like a duck (thank you daddy)
6. smack like a deer (also thanks to daddy who taught him to smack his fist to the palm of his other hand while saying smack, like a deer does in PA - ie. road kill)
7. sing songs, especially church hymns
8. but most of all he cries like a baby, but not on command :)

In sign language he can:
1. say please - by rubbing his belly
2. say thank you - by touching his chin
3. say more - by tapping his fingers together

And he gives:
1. kisses
2. hugs
3. high 5
4. does push-ups

Most importantly, when it's time for dinner he comes to the table and starts to cross himself. He doesn't make the full sign of the cross but touches his hand to his forehead. He does put his thumb and index finger together, so he's getting close to getting it right. He also kisses icons and crosses himself in church.

He can't do a whole lot yet but he is learning fast. To communicate he still mostly hollers, screams (especially when frustrated), or pulls your pants so hard they almost come down. He also shakes and nods his head vigorously in response to questions. So, to all those who will see him at Christmas, hopefully he will have added even more to his vocabulary and you can see him action.

That road kill one is awful! But when he comes to visit, we'll have Megan teach him "Holy Crap!" It'll be special.

Ahh, the lame leading the lamer...

And if you saw how many dead deer are on the road, then you'd teach him something similar. At least I haven't made any "possum pie" references in this blog yet. Oh wait, there's one.
