Quick Trip

We made it to CA and back. YEAH!! Nobody got left at the airport and everyone, including Hannah, did great. The trip to CA was a little more eventful with Hannah puking on me the whole way from Chicago to Sacramento, but we still made it. Coming home was relatively a breeze.

We arrived in CA on Thursday afternoon, picked up some lunch and went over to see Grandma Joyce. She was doing very well so we stayed for a few hours and then took the kidos home to Grama and Grampa's house to go to bed. We went back see Grandma Joyce every day and the kids did great. It helped that we set up a trampoline in grandma's back yard for the kids to jump on, and Uncle Jonathan has a large TV with cable. :)

There were so many people coming and going all the time it was crazy. There were probably 100 people in and out of the house for the weekend, friends, family and old co-workers. Out of grandma's 9 grandchildren 6 were there this weekend and 8 out of her 11 great-grandchildren as well. Along with spouses. Matthew's sister and her family made it up from southern CA for the weekend so we had a great time seeing them and our new nephew Andrew for the first time. (He is so cute!!) It was like a big family reunion. Grandma was so happy to see everyone, even though we completely wore her out every day.

There was more food than anybody new what to do with. (There is more food showing up when your dying than when your having a baby.) It was GREAT. Nobody ever had to cook, unless you consider heating up nacho cheese in a crock-pot cooking. Fr. Dad went over to Costco and got a bunch of bread, meat and cheese and it was help yourself when your hungry. And there were desserts and other food showing up right and left.

We are very happy we were able to go down. It was the worlds fastest trip, I can't believer we are already home. We got home Monday late afternoon and Tue morning Matthew had knee surgery.

Matthew is recovering surprisingly well although I am holding him back from doing too much so he won't re-injure it. He is up and down though and moving around the house much quicker and easier than the last time he had this surgery. The Dr said it was a much smaller tear and so the surgery was quicker and they weren't doing as much digging around in the knee. We are hoping for a quick recovery so we can move on to the next surgery next month.

This morning I took the kids to pre-sanctified by my self. Looking back I think maybe it was a bad idea. It may have been better to sit this one out. Less screaming and spanking.

Matthew and Emma are passed out on the couch and Hannah is passed out on the floor right now. Luke is next door playing and I feel like I should be getting laundry or dishes done but I really don't want to get up off the couch...so I'm not. Chores can wait.

It is rainy and cold out and I need to go shopping to night. We have almost no food in the house right now. I decided not to go this after noon with the girls, but maybe tonight.

Ok, I have said all I can think of now. Please keep praying for us. Matthew's Grandpa Roy is not doing well right now either. We are so hoping not to have two grandparents dying at the same time.
