This is Luke and his friend Peter. We (the parents) were playing Fill or Bust (a dice and card game) while the boys were playing in the corner of the kitchen. They were really quiet and happy so we just left them there.
Luke and Peter decided to trade there things. Luke has Peter's binky and Peter has Luke's sippy of juice. I guess Peter's binky tasted better than his own and Peter thought Luke's juice was pretty nice since he in just 9 months old and hasn't experienced juice too much.
The boys stayed in the kitchen for at least 10-15 min making almost no noise. We kept checking on them and they were always happy just sitting there. I'm not sure what they were really up to. After about 15 min though they started pulling everything off the shelves. So you can see the basket end bowls behind them and the metal bowls in front of them, yea they all came down with a big crash that kept them happy for at least another 10 min. It was great. We got through almost one whole game without them trying to roll the dice in Luke's case or eat the dice in Peter's case.Hope everyone is doing well. We are doing OK here in NEPA, although we are getting really home sick. We are really ready to be home for Christmas. Matthew is ready to be done with school more than anything I think, but he also misses all our family and friends back home. I think it's worse for me because I'm at home most of the time with very little to do. I think I'm going to start sewing again though for a hobby. I don't have a sewing machine yet but Christine said I should just start some projects, cutting out and pinning, to give me something to do now. That's a great idea so I'm going to buy some fabric when I'm at Walmart on Friday.
Tonight we are expected to go to Metro Philips house for dinner. We are so not looking forward to it because no kids are allowed. We are leaving Luke with Christi's parents (the kid I babysit) and hoping he does ok. We are driving separately so we can leave a little later and then get out of there ASAP. We have to drive 2hr each way. SO we will leave a little after 3pm to get there by 5:30pm for Vespers (Matthew said we can't skip) and then dinner is sometime after that, maybe around 6:30. So dinner, dessert, and I'm sure there will be some sort of talk :( Hopefully we will be home before 10pm. With any luck Luke won't have screamed the whole time and might have fallen asleep, although we are not sure at all how he will do.
Well I have to come up with some lunch for the boys so I will say good bye for now.
Pray for us all tonight, that Luke won't scream and I won't be a completely nervous wreck, and that dinner will be really fast.
Love, Stasia
