We just enjoyed a great 70 degree day here in CA. Wow was it wonderful!!
We went to In-N-Out for lunch with Grandma Marge and Grandpa Roy at 10:30 this morning (they like to get out there before the lunch rush). We had a great time eating hamburgers, fries, milkshakes and lemonade for a breakfast/lunch. Luke had pretty much had just french fries and lemonade and Hannah had just french fries. Hannah's favorite were the ones she found on the floor...YUCK!!! We had to watch her pretty closely after that.
After lunch we went to the grandparent's house so Luke and I could pick oranges off Grandpa Roy's orange trees. Although Grandpa said they needed a couple more months to ripen, Luke thought they were just fine. Luke finished off a whole orange in about a minute. Grandpa also has a blood orange tree but when he cut that orange open Luke would not even try it and was convinced it was "dirty". It was really goods though, not as ripe as it could have been but good enough. We were outside, in January picking oranges, in 70 degrees.
Because of the great weather we went to the zoo after we left the grandparents. Grandpa/Fr Stephen met us at the zoo and brought us the stroller so Hannah could ride in it...she rode in it some. Luke was super excited, he got to ride on a carousel lion and a little train that went around the park. The train was a great idea but after he got on and I didn't get on with him (grandpa went) he started screaming, "help me, help me". Grandpa said he only screamed for about 3/4 of it though...:). Luke has developed a pretty nasty cough and today it got worse and because he is sick he is very clingy, hence the screaming on the train. After the train we found a nice quiet spot in the zoo where there was a small playground so Luke could just chill, than off to the reptile house, diaper changes and a visit to the gift shop for our tradition of letting Luke pick out a small plastic animal for his collection. As always he wanted the big elephant but we already have about four large elephants at home from other zoo visits and from Yaya, so we talked him into getting two baby elephants for the mama and papa elephants at home. We had a great time and Grandpa even bought a year pass to the zoo so we can come back next year at this time for free, and we get 10% off at the gift store!!
Tomorrow we are going to go to Fairytale Town, weather permitting.
Both kids are asleep, Hannah with Tylenol for her cold and Luke with Benydril so he can sleep through coughing. Matthew is watching sports center and I guess I will go do something. Ice cream sound good right now, hot fudge, caramel...Yum!
