Today is Matthew's Birthday. Unfortunately the seminary the does not recognize the Matthew Howell Day, so he had to go to school. On the way there he almost ran into a house..yes a house. Apparently it was really icy and he took a turn too fast, and instead of turning he just kept on going. Thankfully the curb was there and bumped him back on the road. Good thing is, there was no traffic because the curb bumped him into the wrong lane! Needless to say, he slowed down after that.
I told Luke that we were going to make something for Papa for his birthday and Luke decided he needed an apple pie...so we made an apple pie. Luke made the crust and mixed all the apples and put little crust shaped apples on the top. He did a good job, the pie was excellent, especially with cookies and cream ice cream.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner for Matthew with our neighbors (the Weirs) and a fun game of banana grams (or speed scrabble) after dinner.
My friend Elizabeth came over with her kids this afternoon to play so that was a lot of fun to catch up with her. Luke and Nonna got along pretty well with only a few mishaps and squabbles. It was a nice day altogether and tomorrow we have play group here and then Matthew comes home around noon.
Time to put a fussy Hannah to bed!
