Well for all intents and purposes the kids and I's road trip is over. We are flying back to AK on the 27th with Mary, and Matthew and Isaac will be doing the rest of the driving. So I should find a new title for the blog huh...
Yesterday I painted Sally and Fr Stephens bath room. I need a project and their bathroom needed painted so it worked out. I had a good time and now I feel like I have done something useful on this very long vacation!
Today it was 95 degrees and sweltering. Oh my gosh it was hot. So what did we do you are probably wondering?? Well like any good Alaskan dieing in the heat we went swimming. YEAH!! This morning we went and saw Matthew's Granpa Roy Grammarge. Then over to Funderland to ride kiddie coasters before it got too hot.
Funderland was awesome. Luke and Hannah went through 30 tickets in just a couple hours. Their favorite ride was the cars because they could go on it by themselves and they just LOVED that. Some of the other rides they weren't tall enough to go by themselves. At the end the kids were on the cars and we only had one ticket left but the guy running the ride let them both go again. Then when they were coming back around he let them go again because there wasn't anyone else around. The kids thought that was just awesome, they didn't even have to get off their car they just kept going and going!! I think we will probably be going back before we leave!
After Funderland we went home for naps and lunch (around 2pm or so). Unfortunately no one really slept. At some point Ben, Peter and Hans called and informed us they were on their way over. We weren't expecting them until tomorrow. Because they were trying to be "fuel efficient" they were not using their air conditioner so our invitation to go swimming was eagerly excepted.
At 4pm we left to go over to a friends house to swim and have dinner. The boys were going to join us there.
5pm Boys arrive at pool party and Ben goes right into the pool. He was sooooooooooo hot. :) Peter and Hans followed shortly after!
We had a great time swimming. (Who wouldn't min 90+ degree weather?) Steve and Beth are parents of one of Matthew's friends from grade school. They are SUPER GREAT people. So generous and awesome. It took the kids about 45 min to warm up to the pool but once they did they didn't want to come out. Hannah got out of her swimsuit about and hour before we left but got in the hot "bath" tub in her undies, then she tried to jump back in the pool in her clothes right as we were leaving. Before we left Beth showed me how to get into there house whenever we want. She also showed me where the koolade and cookies were and said I could have whatever was in the fridge or cupboard or whatever. How cool is that. Food, pool, 90 degree weather=AWESOME!!! Now we only have to get past the 2 huge dogs weighing over 100 lb's each!! :) NICE PUPPIES!
Tomorrow (which I think is Wed)- The boys (all of them) are going golfing with Steve. (Steve, from above, works at a golf course and can get them on for FREE) Mary and I are going to take the kids to a zoo, and them we are going to meet back at Steve and Beth's for more swimming! We then have plans to meet some peoples (Whitcoms and others) of at a park for a picnic dinner. It's going to be another very full and awesome day.
Thursday- Isaac comes in at 11:49pm
Friday- No plans yet...maybe more swimming. Ben, Peter and Hans might be leaving.
Saturday- Lunch with the Little's (friends from the church here in Sac). Then Matthew's cousin Kevin and Robin come in to visit at some point, and Shelly, Robert, Maddy and Drew arrive in the evening.
As you can see we have a pretty packed week. Thank goodness we have another week after this cuz we still have a lot we want to do!!

Real Men Wear Floaties. Yup, Hannah gave me her floaties and told me to wear them. So I did.
